Blast from past II

Posted: November 12, 2008 in Blogroll, Rays of Faith

As I walked through the rain, I pondered on one of the best times of my life; starting rays of faith sessions with my halaqah gals. Subhana’Allah, speaking about Allah and His army (angles) resulted in an awesome feeling that I can’t begin to describe in words. I thought about Meeka’eel who was in charge of the vegetation and rain, and of Gabrail-the leader of the angles, Maalik and how his character was so molded and fit for the conditions of the hell-fire, and of Israfeel sounding the trumpet signaling the beginning of one of the most important times in our lives. These heavenly agents as I once wrote about are connected with us and are part of our lives/and our hereafter in so many ways.

… Fussilat-awesome surah with wonderful memories…..

=================Heavenly agents at time of death================

Surah Fussilat

This Surah is like any surah in the Qur’an for it is full of meanings that subhanallah if one were to just read and implement it they would be successful. To touch base on somethings that grabbed my attention are the following verses…(30-31)

30. In the case of those who say, “Our Lord is Allah., and, further, stand straight and steadfast, the angels descend on them (from time to time): “Fear ye not!” (they suggest), “Nor grieve! but receive the Glad Tidings of the Garden (of Bliss), the which ye were promised!

31. “We are your protectors in this life and in the Hereafter: therein shall ye have all that your souls shall desire; therein shall ye have all that ye ask for!-

To me these verses are amazing for the they speak concerning the death of the believer. To many people the concept of death is hard to swallow for it is scary knowing no one will aid anyone when the angle of death comes to get the person…however in these verses it explains how the angles will console the believer…they will tell them not to grieve. Its shocking to know that at the most loneliest time in a person history a heavenly being will be there to assure them of their destination just because they were beleivers. Subhanallah overall it just makes me strive to be the best believer.

We spoke about angles and their love for the believers in making dua for them-for the righteous.

  • They pray for those:
  • Who pray for another person who is absent
  • Who make wudu before sleep
  • The person who is teaching and learning
  • Those who go to the masjid
  • Those who are in the first row of congregational prayer
  • When we say dua in the salah
  • Who fill the gap during the salaah
  • Who sit after the prayer
  • Who eat Sahoor
  • Those who pray (give salawat) on the Prophet s.a.w
  • Those who go to visit sick, whether Muslim or non-Muslim

Alhamduilah, in the same manner angles make dua against those who:

  • Those who disobey Allah
  • Who innovates in the matter of religion. Ahlul bida
  • Whoever gives shelter to such an innovator
  • Whoever does a sin in Madinah
  • Whoever curses and speaks bad about the sahabah (Tabarani from Ibn Abbas)
  • A stingy person

May Allah, the most high, makes us of those who the angles make dua for and accompany in their time of need..onset of departing from this world and entering the world of the unseen.

Some quicky reminders that stood out to me as we ended today:

There are total of three different (3) angels for recording.

Left and Right records:

Everyone human being has two angels recording their deeds, one on the left and one on the right. The angel on the right records only good deeds and the angel on the left records only the bad deeds.

Ma yalfithu min qawlin illa ladayhi raqeebun AAateedun

50:18 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it).

3rd record:

This general record for every single action. This will record everything including what we have thought about. So these angels even have the special ability to document our thoughts. And everyday will be a new page in the record.

When I first took this class, I think one of the things that stood out to me was the 3rd record, as for the first two we were pretty much familiar with it, and so the concept of something so close to you and hearing and not only recording ones thoughts was completely hard to fathom. In grade school, there was this poster that had something along the lines of “be careful of your thoughts as they will become actions”, and subhana’Allah I can only think of the hadeeth of the Prophet s.a.w speaking of actions being goverend by intentions. All in all, this third record is as important as the first though the first two are about accountability, but in general having the knowledge of the 3rd record gives one the chance to control the thoughts so as to prevent a recording of a bad deed-thus affecting the 2nd record. May Allah subhana wa tala make us of those who are cautious of our thoughts and me He protect us from the whispers of the shaytaan who whispers in the hearts of men and jinn.
