Alhamdulilah, all praise is due to Allah who has brought forth blessings for His slaves. I’ve been caught up with several things in the past days, one of them being spending time with my malaysian munchkins…subhana’Allah, how I love these people and will truly miss them. After having shopped for juice and candy (yes, the last moments with these munchkins consisted of such an outting), we sat on the couch and giggled about “goodly” moments, Huja the fat wise frog, and discussed random things that their teacher/friend/partner in “goodly” stuff would embark on. I ask Allah to join us in Al-firdous, and if not sooner then expected.

In between studying, projects, teaching, and working..I haven’t been able to sit down and listen to a lecture for a while. Alhamdulilah, I got the chance to listen to Shaykh Waleed’s lecture titled “Belief in the Unseen” which dealt with what happens to people in their dunya when they embark on a path of righteousness. Subhana’Allah, one of the things that really made me stop and think about things was the ayah that I’ve heard a thousand times before…the one concerning how Allah opens and paves a way out for those who fear Him in their difficulty. The ayah came down in the context of Auf Ibn malik and his son. His son, was captured by the mushrikeen and he went to the Prophet sal allahu wa sallam and asked him what to do. The Prophet sal allahu wa sallam told him to say “La huwla walla qwata illa billah” again and again. He went back to his wife and she heard the statements she said that the Prophet sal allahu alayhi wa sallam had given him the best advice. Soon, their son came home with 400 sheep. They asked him what happened, and he stated one night the mushrikeen forgot to tie him up, and he didn’t tell them…so while there they began to drink and drink and they were completely intoxicated to the extent that they didn’t hear him leave along with the 400 sheep. Subhana’Allah. Ones fear and righteous ways protect the individual in their time of need and Allah causes them to be freed from their calamity, alhamdulilah.

وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَجاً >>

“And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty).” {Soorah at-Talaaq; 2}

May He, the most High, join all of us in Al-Firdous where we may reap from our righteous acts in the dunya. Allahuma Ameen.
