Its almost one aclock around here. When I came home today I was thinking about this lecture I’ve been listening to…say like a bunch times. Its the one by Yahya Abdel Ibrahim concerning ibaadah–true worship of Allah. Subhana’Allah, in this lecture he speaks about the key ingredients of worship. First he speaks of the three bases–Love, Fear, and Hope of Allah Azza Wa JaAllah. Its interesting because I already know this stuff, but wallahi when I hear it again its got like a profound new meaning for me. Like when you’ve learned something but you kind of get use to it but then not really see it…what is that word–dishabituated–like you lose that instant reaction to it. Now, that I think about could be just that when you got through a Allah says “Do they not thing that because they believe they will not be tested…hmm) so its like when you’ve been tested with something or forget something and you come back to it, you then experience the sweetness of it all over again. But anyway, he goes on to further speak about Iqlaas (sincerity) and sunnah–he speaks about these two key ingredients–he uses the analogy of them as the two wings on a plane–you can’t have one without the other and if you just have one it wouldn’t work. Subhana’Allah, its like this is stuff is super simple–but yet sometimes things get murcky and you become lost but then again Allah shows and sends us signs in so many ways. May Allah make of those who take heed.

Anyway, in the same lecture he speaks of the Prophet s.a.w. and of how his sunnah is one of the key ingrediants because that Allah has chosen him–in surah Zumar–one of my fav. surahs–Allah says concerning Muhammed s.a.w.

11: Say (O Muhammed s.a.w.) “Verily I am commanded to worship Allah (Alone) by obeying Him and doing religious deeds sincerely for His sake only.”

12:”And I am commanded (this) in order that I may be the first of those who submit themselves to Allah (in Islam) as Muslims”.

I love that part of how Allah says to Muhammed s.a.w.–tell them you are of the muslims. Its such a beautiful thing because a lot of times through the verses of Qu’ran I’ve read there wasn’t a explicit verse with Allah using the word muslim to describe Muhammed s.a.w.

Subhana’Allah. In the lecture, he also mentioned of the Prophet s.a.w and of how Allah spoke about him in the beginning of three surahs in relations with sending with him s.a.w a powerful book–there is probably many more–but he mentioned:

1.) Kaaf 1: All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has sent down His slave (Muhammed s.a.w.) the Book (the Qur’an), and has not placed therein any crookedness.

2.) Israa 1: Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) who took His slave Muhammed sa.w. for a journey by night from Al-Masjid al-Haram to Al-Masjid al Aqsa…

3.) Furqaan 1: Blessed be He Who sent down the criterion to His slave Muhammed s.a.w. that he may be a warner to the Alamin.

Subhana’Allah…what a day…on to next blog…God its late! ahhhh

ohhhhh i almost forget… …totally gotta renew my intentions! I went in! muhahaha
